I think the following information will clarify the whole problem!!! Please check the page: http://www.badc.rl.ac.uk/data/surface/count.html As you can see from this page, the surface data now held at the BADC does not use the throwback (this is the method (not to use the throwback) now used by the Met Office to store their data) . This is the reason why all the data appear to be shifted by one day! Please let me know if this concept is still a bit obscure.
