cc: watts@gbnuk.com date: Tue, 12 Dec 2000 12:00:17 +0000 from: Trevor Davies subject: Re: Environmental Oil & Gas Conference to: m.hulme@uea.ac.uk,r.k.turner@uea.ac.uk Emma Watts (email address above) is arranging the programme for this conference. She has indicated that she would be happy with a 20 minute talk from each of you. She knows that 4 April is your preferred date. The copy of her provisional programme is below. I suggested that, as it stood, the prgramme was rather "sequential" & compartmentalised, and it would be good to have a session where some of the issues were integrated. This could be done, by integrating some of the physical science/technology issues - in the way that the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research will do (Mike Hulme); & in seeking to "connect" the main players - business/gvt/civic society, etc, in the way that the Institute for Connective Environmental Research (Kerry Turner) will attempt. Emma will be very pleased to hear from you, with your suggestion for titles for your lectures & a few words on what it will cover. I shall be very grateful if you could contact her.
