My remark about the "in press" was to encourage/remind you that we have already stated in the EC SOAP report that this paper is in press - so please do not pull it. My interpretation of the referee's comments ( which I mostly agree) are just to do with problems in the discussion. There is nothing "wrong" with it - just ambiguities and unclear or perhaps misinterpreted statements. It WAS NOT my intention to suggest lots of work - but I see a problem with the Siren data - If you simply do a run without this single series , and results do not change significantly , then just leave it out. I will try to find the result of when I did the comparison but I will attach here the ring width series from Grudd et al so you could also check this (I am bogged down with much teaching and student supervision just at the moment). A lot of the other work is just rewording I hope. All the very best Keith 11:48 AM 2/13/04 +0100, you wrote: Dear Keith I have received the comments. Thanks. I guess that I have to remake the calculations with improved data. A lot of work especially to do the new validations and comparisons. For that I have to get newer proxies like the Tornetrask series. Could you send me it? Besides what do you mean by "this paper is in press already in the Holocene" while the other reviewer tells that "it is no yet suitable for publication"?
