This comes about from monies that have suddenly seemed to have materialised in the MO for projects that have considerable pull through to customers and users. I'm not sure what figure we are looking at, though the CEO at a recent general question and answer session with MO staff (including yours truly) was talking about £19 million that needed to be spent across the Office or it would end up back with the MoD!!! The way it can be done is under my ACRE initiative, which has the customer and user element as an integral part of it via Gil Compo's reanalyses that ACRE is facilitating on the data side. In addition, one also gets more SSTs for all the usual work here. So I think it is worth a real push. Phil Brohan and I are going to put together the business case for it, and we need to get it in by next Friday - usual story!! So we'll need to check with you that if something like this could get monies from here would the BL infrastructure and your time be able to be fitted together for an EIC and a WW1 proposal? I think it could be for the last half of this year and the first half of next year - I'll find out more and let you know. All and any thoughts most appreciated. Plus fingers crossed tighter this time round.
