It has been accepted by the IPCC plenary in Vienna last November that chapter 6 of the WG1 Fourth Assessment Volume has the title 'paleoclimate'. Thus, the text in the minutes may be changed replacing the word 'may' by the word 'will'. Indeed, support and input IPCC chapter 6 will provide a powerful argument for the proposal It is essential that we learn more about the beginning and end of interglacials as suggested by Andre. The Ruddiman paper, Climatic Change, will certainly fuel the discussion on this topic also in the context of the anthropogenic perturbation.
