Briffa) in Sciencexpress on climate resarch. My name is Sven Titz, I am a science writer working for the Berliner Zeitung (a newspaper in Berlin). In the last paragraph of your perspective article "The Real Color of Climate Change", you state that "it is already clear, ..., that greater past climate variations imply greater future climate change". What I would like to know is: Do you mean... - future climate change that is induced by man and greater due to stronger climate sensitivity or - future climate change that is greater due to stronger climate variability caused by natural external forcings? I hope this is not too much of hairsplitting... Thank you very much in anticipation! Best regards, Sven Titz Phone: ++49+30-23275723 Berliner Zeitung
