At present , though the meeting was certainly a success, little progress has been made in getting this issue together. It remains to be seen whether there is any feeling for a continued research/forum organised around a series oh HIHOL meetings but AT PRESENT THERE ARE NO FORMAL PLANS TO DO THIS. Best wishes Keith At 01:39 PM 6/22/01 -0600, you wrote: Dr. Briffa, I am a recent PhD from the University of Colorado (INSTAAR) with a speciality in Holocene climate records from lacustrine sediments. I am very much interested in interacting with the international community working on Holocene climate variability issues, especially on decadal scales. My studies on Baffin Island and Iceland suggest that climate forcing such as the LIA and MWP may be overshadowed by higher frequency climate influences when the forcing mechanism is proximal (such as the NAO influence on Iceland). I would like to participate in HIHOL, if possible. The website indicates that you are the contact person for information on this organization.
